Upgrade ram for future?

So I want to upgrade my RAM to the absolute max. Problem is I believe the fastest speed I can use is 2666. So I figured hey, might as well maximize my memory. I’m buying 64 gb. Is this a good idea?

 

CPU: i7-8700

Motherboard: B360M-A

Computer specs: i7 8700, GTX 1650 OC 4GB, 64GB 2666 MHz DDR4 RAM, Asus B360M-A Motherboard, Acer GN246HL Monitor.
Hardware: Razer Blackwidow V3, Razer Deathadder essential, Kraken Tournament Edition Headset.

For a gaming PC there's not a reason to have more than 16GB. What's the PC for?

 

I noticed in your sig you have a 1060 3gb, why not spend the money that would go towards ram on a new GPU instead?

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

i meant even 4k rendering doesnt need 64gb and if its gaming even 8 gigs would enough tho. yeah just go with gpu like RTX SUPER
