Hello,

i bought new samsung 970 evo 1TB and tried to compare write speed with my older 960 EVO 512GB (system disk). I duplicated same file on both drives to see differences.

MB is ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-F, 960 EVO is in slot m.2_1 (one with passive heatsink) and 970 EVO in m.2_2.

970 EVO gets quite hot  (around 71-80 °C) but 960 EVO stays cool around 45 °C but write speed goes up and down like on swing (see file attached).

Both drives are running in x4 mode.

Anyone any ideas why 960 EVO behaves like this?
