New PC does not boot

Hi!

After my old computer stopped working I've bought all the components for my new pc. The problem now is that it won't even show me the POST screen.

As to my new setup, I've used the following parts:

Mainboard: Asus Rog Strix B350F

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X

RAM: 2x 8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 DDR4

GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 970

Storage: Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 500GB

 

There is an orange LED lighting up besides the RAM, and after some googling it could be either that my MB needs a BIOS update (as the current version may not support the CPU/RAM) or my RAM or the MB has a problem. The RAM should be compatible according to the QVL of the MB. Now my question is: How can I update the BIOS when it doesn't even get to POST? I don't have any spare parts lying around besides the old components of my previous computer, but those are in no way compatible. I've also read that it can take up to 15 min for Ryzen CPUs to get ready, but even after 20 min nothing is happening.

A 350 board with a 3800x? Why? Any way you can return the board and get a 450 or 570?

I've bought the 3800X because it was on sale, I've planned to buy a Ryzen 5 3600x but the upgrade was only 40€ more, so it was a last minute decision after ordering the 350 board.
