HELP WITH BALANCING A BUILD

Go to solution Solved by 191x7,

Zen 2 should really be paired with DDR4 3600, that's the optimal RAM speed to get the most performance out of it.

The board is a bad one, and that has nothing to do with the chipset. There are B450 boards that have a better VRM solution than most X470 or some X570 boards.

For example, the MSI B450 Tomahawk (max) has a great VRM, while a Gigabyte X470 Ultra Gaming lacks in that department.

At this time RX 5700 XT cards offer a lot more than 2060 Super.

The PSU isn't a great choise either. Checkthe PSU Tier List here on the forum.

Hi Guys

I need some advise on the following build list, as to whether you think it will work out and whether the

parts are all well balanced to each other.

Part of a bundle deal :

CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3700x

RAM : Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 16GB (2x 8GB) 3200MHz

Motherboard : Asus Rog Strix B450-F Gaming

Parts sold individually :

Storage : Hikvision E2000 512GB NVMe SSD

Graphics Card : Asus ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER OC

Power Supply : Antec HCG-850 850W Fully Modular 80+Gold

CPU Cooler : Corsair H100i RGB Platinum SE Liquid Cpu Cooler

Chassis : CoolerMaster Mastercase H500P Mesh Case White

Most of these parts are on sale by my retailer so their prices are discounted by 30% - 50%

Any suggestions for changes ?

P.S. I really like the Storm Tropper look

oh and I'd really enjoy overclocking where I can, I'm just concerned about the VRMs on the Motherboard because its a B450

Thanks Fam!

Asus Rog Strix B450-F Gaming

This board will be marginally okay for R7 3700X but if this just a gaming PC i suggest you to get R5 3600 instead and some cheaper B450 board, it wouldn't make a difference. And be adviced that you'll need latest UEFI firmware on most B450\X470 boards (except MSI MAX) to support Zen 2 CPUs

Antec HCG-850 850W Fully Modular 80+Gold

This PSU is not recommended. What other 80+ Gold 550W+ options you have ?
