If you really want to push the overclock you need to learn what all of the related settings in your mobo do.

If you want just a basic overclock, turn on all core sync and adjust the multiplayer (generally 50 =5ghz). Don’t get caught up in pushing your multiplayer too high, the difference between 4.8ghz and 5.0 ghz is pretty minor.

Then if your cpu is getting too hot try doing a negative voltage offset starting aroun -.005. I’m using a -.02 offset on my 9700k to keep the temps in the 60s-70s, but every cpu is different.

Thanks for the insight, I'll look into it.

What is your GPU load temperature (what's the temperature when playing a game for at least ten minutes)?
