Hi everyone!

Soon I will purchase an m.2 ssd (250 GB) to use as my boot drive, and maybe store some software/ applications on it.

first question: I keep finding a handful of reviews on every m.2 ssd that i find that say it overheated and stopped working after a month? should I be worried?

second question: what M.2 ssds do u recommend?

ignore amazon/newegg/etc. "reviews," they aren't real reviews.

Intel 660p, cheap and good.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

I have heard of these drivers heating up and slowing down, but not failing due to heat.

a lot of motherboards these days have heat sinks for M.2, so this shouldn't be a big issue, especially if you are just using the driver for your OS.

High quality drivers with crazy warranties and massive read/write cycles are overkill for a regular user.  Unless you do video editing or move giant files around on a daily basis, you don't need one of these.

I agree a 660p is a good choice.

Thanks!

660p only 512GB and 1TB options so I might go for the 760p

Thank you!

I was thinking of getting the 660p but turns out they only make 512GB and 1TB models :(

The 660p is QLC trash.

I recommend the Kingston A2000,It's TLC and is available in variety of sizes.

TLC is higher quality and durability.
