Hello All,

I am Planning to upgrade my current PC to bring it in line with todays upper enthusiast level PC's. I currently use my pc mostly for gaming and streaming however I have noticed that playing more modern games and streaming at the same time has become harder and my streams have been getting choppy and less smooth.

The current parts that I am looking at replacing come black friday/cyber monday are the CPU/Motherboard/Ram or the graphics card. Im currently running an i7 - 4770k with ddr3 Memory on a MSi board and I have a MSI gaming 6 980Ti. I was looking at the r9 3900k from amd as my upgrade for the CPU and a board and possibly 32 GB of ram instead of 16 GB. I just wanted to make sure that I could hold off on a graphics card update and that the CPU/Motherboard/Ram combo would be a better value to increase my stream quality?

Thanks!

My Apologies, I dont need the Graphics card at the moment I was just asking if the CPU/Motherboard/ and Ram Combo would be a better upgrade currently than the graphics card for the purposes of streaming

Yes, the CPU is largely what streaming software relies on and would be the best upgrade for streaming (in which case) I wouldn't recommend more than 8 Cores for simply gaming & streaming, as you start to lose gaming performance at 10 cores and above, as it stop scaling properly beyond 8. RAM is also not a complication at 16GB as anything more is only suggested for intensive applications in 3D and or video production.

For an upper enthusiast level PC in 2019, I personally would recommend a 3700X, MSI MPG X570 EDGE, and 16GB Ripjaws X DDR4-3600
