Cheap Minecraft PC Need Idea's

I'm wanting to do something special for my kids this year for Christmas. (6 and 8 Year old Boys) I remember the feeling of building my first computer getting hands on with the parts and learning what each did.  I have a budget of about $100 each and would have the time to tear down  if  pre built . Would prefer a video card and not Integrated but with this price point I understand. Any help in idea's from the Community would be much helpful. Thank you

• GPU (Discrete): Nvidia GeForce 400 Series or AMD Radeon HD 7000 series with OpenGL 4.4
• HDD: At least 1GB for game core, maps and other files
• OS:
• - Windows: Windows 7 and up
• - macOS: Any 64-bit OS X using 10.9 Maverick or newer
• - Linux: Any modern 64-bit distributions from 2014 onwards
• Internet connectivity is required for downloading Minecraft files, afterwards offline play is possible.

• RAM: 8GB
• GPU: GeForce 700 Series or AMD Radeon Rx 200 Series (excluding integrated chipsets) with OpenGL 4.5
• HDD: 4GB (SSD is recommended)
• OS (recommended 64-bit):
• - Windows: Windows 10
• - macOS: macOS 10.12 Sierra
• - Linux: Any modern distributions from 2014 onwards

For $100 each?  Combine and maybe you can get them something very used.  Then alternate their playtimes.

 

But you are going to search long and hard for $100 Minecraft PC's for each of them.

Yeah $100 each is the goal. I was thinking about some of the idea's from the $69 Gaming PC.

With a budget like that, the best option imo is a used dell optiplex of reasonable size with a 4th gen i5 inside, that way you have room for some sort of graphics upgrade down the line. Alternatively, used hardware for everything from the case to the CPU is viable, might give you more bang for buck too.

That budget range you're gonna have to search high and low for 2 core 2 duo prebuilt. They will have to be the e8600 at 3.33ghz or e8400 at 3.14ghz 12mb cache fsb 1333mhz. You'll wish you went core 2 quad. It would take someone not knowing anything to let you get 2 OEM with something that at least has a gtx 645 gpu. If you really luck out you can find 2 older 6c/12thr oem workstations for that price. They will have the ram robbed except for a single 1gb stick, the video card will be swapped for a consumer desktop gpu, and the raid hard drives should be missing. This is your range of realism.

Call the local University, see if the IT department has any old computers around.  Can score i5 3/4 series mini towers for $40 bucks average.  Ive got one!
