Heyo.

i'm having a problem with my pc, which is whenever i'm in a loading screen like league of legends or world of warcraft. Whatever is on my second monitor starts to lag, if i'm watching a youtube video and i enter a loadingscreen in wow my youtube video starts buffering and lagging, audio comes out normally (as long as it doesn't buffer) but the video might lag and skip frames usually between 0.3-1.2 seconds of frameskipping.

Also if i'm in the loadingscreen (using wow as an example again) and i left click more than twice on my monitor with the game open it gives me the windows message "WoW.exe has stopped responding" and the two buttons with Wait or Shutdown, i just press wait and it works after 5 seconds.

Everything is updated, windows, drivers, and all that. (edit 1)

The problem isn't youtube or the browser it's the system that starts lagging my games and anything on my second monitor (or in the background processes on my main monitor) (edit 2)

My rig shouldn't be doing this and i don't know why, task manager doesn't show excessive use on my cpu, disk, ram or network. And the gpu monitoring tool i use (NZXT Cam) doesn't show any over the top load on the GPU.

My rig consists of.

Ryzen 7 2700x

RTX 2080 Gigabyte Windforce

G.skill Ripjaws v 16gb 3200mhz (2x 8GB)

MSI B450m gaming

2x pny cs900 (500GB Disks) one has my OS on it the other is completely empty

1x m.2 2280 Samsung evo 970+ 1TB (which has most of my games on it such as wow and league)

Monitor is 165 Hz HP Omen 27 inch 2560x1440

Monitor 2 is 60 Hz Lenovo 27 inch 1920x1080.

I'm suspecting this has something to do with my cpu since it's only a problem when i'm in loadingscreens and usally it's the cpu that handles background processes and such.

Thank you so much for reading through all of this and i hope your guidance can help me solve my issues, it's super annoying when i've paid over 2000$ for the pc.

- Try updating your BIOS to the latest one (The latest BIOS can be found on Motherboard's manufacturer's website)

*Be careful though, flashing the BIOS incorrectly might cause your motherboard to malfunction or stop working

- You can try resetting your BIOS.

- Uninstall unnecessary extensions from your browsers, or if that does not resolve the problem try using other browser and if other browser is working fine then you gotta reinstall your main browser.

- Check your CPU if it is overheating, CoreTemp is a software to check that!

HOPE THIS HELPS

but the problem isn't the browser. the problem is that my pc for some reason can't handle the loadingscreens. (which in turn affects the browser)

the youtube example was just because it happened last night while watching youtube videos.

it's also if i have another game on my second monitor.

Do you have antivirus installed, go for a free or paid, it is up to you to decide!

But I personally use Bitdefender, other options are Avast, Kyspersky, AVG. Perform a full system scan if any Virus/malware is chilling!

The last tip I can give you is Reinstall Windows, I know it is very annoying to install and set everything up again but that might help!

i've thought of this and even as an intern working at an actual company doing IT work i'm struggeling to figure out how to properly move my windows from one ssd to my m.2 so i've been stopped in my tracks by that. will try to look it up again once i'm home.

(i've only reset computers via network resets)

but since i only have 50/10 (50 megabit download 10 upload) i'd rather see if something else is at fault.

especially since my pc drains all internet in the house when i'm downloading things.

and downloading 800GB with 5-6 MB/sec is going to take a while

Don't, just don't do that, latest update is for Ryzen Zen2 not Zen+

I am personally afraid of updating the BIOS of my CPU, I just gave that might work but as I said in italics it is a risky thing to do!

There is nothing to be afraid of, it's easy and straight forward but sometimes updating the BIOS make your system less stable when you overclock the crap out off it, so you can't overclock as much but you can revert it. Follow owners manual instructions and you will be good. Find the lastest BIOS before it state that it is for 3rd gen Ryzen compatibility.

Make sure Windows is up to date by clicking to check for update button, check for Chipset update, maybe also check for BIOS update, those are the first thing i would do, then use HWinfo to check sensors when that occur if CPU is fully loaded.
