I found these Sony ss-ctb101 's in my parents basement and I was wondering if I could use these at my pc. What kind of receiver, amplifier, or adapters do I need? I don't really want to spend a ton of money. Would it be better to just toss them? Also, they are currently using the sub woofer for their tv, so I don't have it. I really don't know much about audio, so I really appreciate the help. Thanks.

center speaker : Sony SS-CTB101

front and surround speakers: SS-TSB101

You were supposed to have a subwoofer as well, code for that is SS-WSB101

Based on another online PDF (just search for those model numbers), these were used with a Sony receiver, model HT-SS370 : https://www.amazon.com/Sony-HT-SS370-Surround-Discontinued-Manufacturer-x/dp/B0035ER1QE

The receiver itself was model STR-KS370 , and you can find it on ebay for around 60-80$:

You should be able to use it in 2.0 or 4.0 mode, or stereo,4.0 + center, no subwoofer connected.

You can use a stereo extension cable or stereo -> 2 x rca to connect the output of your pc to the receiver and hear stuff on the speakers.

Or you could connect the hdmi cable to the receiver and then another hdmi cable from receiver to monitor,  and output the sound to hdmi and the receiver will extract the audio and pass through the video to the monitor.

You can probably use the speakers with any othe receiver or audio amplifier that can do 3 ohm impedance, which is a bit tricky - normally amplifiers prefer 4 ohm or more.
