Hi guys,

I got a new laptop while, got the best I could afford at the time, but the GPU just isn't up to gaming at 1080p, its fine in most things at the native res. It's a Lenovo Y570 with a 2670QM and Geforce 555M.

Anyway, my desktop had an old HD6870 which I figure should still be alright now at 1080p with modest settings, but it's sitting on an E5800 @ 3.8GHz which just isn't cutting it. Any advice for an upgrade?

I'm thinking new mobo, CPU, PSU and a case, but only gonna have £300 ish to spend, but nothing more than £400 tops.

Looking for something quiet that will keep up with a GPU upgrade in the future.

Thanks,

Bill
