Hi guys, I think I am running into some connection issues with the usb 3.0 header on my mobo (maximus impact vii) my case is an Evolv Shift X and I am using the cable supplied with the case.

I am finding that when having devices plugged into these two USB ports every now and then the signal will seem to drop, i have tested with the ports on the back of the mobo and they seem to be fine.

What might you guys suggest is the issue? Hardware or Software.

Many thanks,

Nayth

Sure sounds like either the header on the motherboard is faulty or the cable/panel on the case, i'm yet to see issues of that nature that relate with software on systems newer than Intel's X58.

The easiest and cheapest way to test this out is to buy a little cable like this and connect it to your motherboard's internal header, if it works, the case is at fault, if not, then its the motherboard.
