Gigabyte motherboard prohibited bios

So as a backstory: I just bought borderlands 3, and this is the first game I've bought that my PC isn't powerful enough to run. I have an i5-6500, 12gb Ram, and a gtx 1070. I want to overclock my cpu so that I can get some more performance out of it. I don't know if it will actually help, but it's worth a try. Obviously you can't overclock non-K chips, but you can change the bclk. However, you can only do that on older bios versions, as Intel doesn't like you doing that. My motherboard is Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3. I have the latest bios, but found out that version 6e was the last one that supports bclk overclocking. But when I go to the bios update utility and choose that file, it says "This motherboard is protected from using this bios". Is there a way to force my motherboard to have the older bios?

 

TLDR: Is there a way to force my motherboard to have an old bios that it wouldn't otherwise let me have?

No, that's where I got the file from. How do you use a bios programmer?
