HDD to SDD issues on laptop

I migrated a 1tb 5400rpm hdd to new adata ssd 500gb. I had maybe 100gb uses on the hdd in my laptop. Anyways, when i copied the drive over, i still have like 300 plus gb not recognized by windows. I did format the drive and linked folders to it but i want to be able to have windows recognize the entire drive together rather then 2 partitions. Any suggestions?

I want the F drive to be able to work in unison with the C drive

Not sure exactly what you want to do.  I'm guessing you want to get rid of drive F and expand drive C to take all usable space?

I'm not sure it can be done in Windows without purchasing software specifically for this.  The problem is Windows wants the partitions you want merged to be adjacent.  If you have Linux experience you might try booting a Live distro and running GParted.  I believe you can relocate your OEM backup partitions to the end of the drive and then merge your C drive with the unallocated space.

There are plenty of free good software for Windows.

My favorite is: AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard Edition

With this software you can easily solve the problem, delete the F partition,

then drag the empty space next to the C drive, then you can expand the C drive.

You can also do sector by sector drive clone with this freeware.

Didn't know there was anything free out there.  I always just used Linux to fix my Windows problems. ?

I just noticed there is a special option for migrating HHD to SSD,and you can even merge partitions.
