Powerline Adapter - Upgrade Needed?

Hello everyone. First time poster but could not find any quality information on my google searches so figured i would check out this forum for potential answers. 

 

Currently i have the TPLink PA4010 kit (500Mbps) powerline adapter in my home running from my Linksys router to my desktop, playstation and a Roku upstairs. The Desktop and Playstation are connected through a single dual port powerline adapter. My office, which has my desktop and playstation, are on the opposite side of the house from the router so my signal strength is ok but i can tell me ping is higher. I have swapped between being wired and wireless for my desktop with differing results. I currently have 200 mbps internet service and do receive at-least that speed via wifi for a majority of the house and around 120 -140 on my desktop. When i wire it through my powerline adapter it drops to around 30- 40 but with a better ping. 

 

My question is do you think an upgrade on the powerline adapter will help with my internet speeds? I know it states 500mbps but i know those generally does not reflect real life speeds. I notice some of the new models come with a noise reduction filter which is supposed to help improve speeds but i wasnt sure if anyone on here has experienced improvements by a powerline upgrade.

They're really sensitive to old/poor wiring. Why not just buy them and test it out? If they don't improve your speeds, return them, easy peasy!
