H61 mobo ram slot b1 not working

Hi, I have a P8H61M from asus, with a 2600 i7, atm I have a 4GB DIMM on the a slot, but when I insert a ram stick on the B slot, the machine stops posting, even though the sticks are exactly the same and known good; though one thing I noticed, was that the B stick did heat up to operating temperature. I already checked multiple times to see if the mobo has bent pins but the pin grid is pristine.
