New Nas Build

Hello everyone. 
 

I’m currently in the process of upgrading my nas or should I say building a new one.

 

Case I’m going to be working with is a Fractal Node 304 white

 
Has anyone here built one using this case? 
 

Also looking for the best way to route cables even if it means making new ones! Ay one knows where I could get molex to make my own cables?

Thats a pretty good nas case.

 

What hardware and os do you plan to use?

 

Most cable are easy to crimp if you have the tools, but there should be enough space for normal length cables.

You can find molex connectors and wires on ebay, but i dont think thats really necessary

Intel mobo and cpu no choice yet

Those are smr, so id stay away from then in a nas if you can. The 8tb shucked drives from wd aren't smr and are about the same price.

Id stay away from xpenology as its know to have issues after updates and just not like some hardware, Id get something like unraid, proxmox, freenas or widnows server.
