One of the 120mm fans on my Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240L AIO is making some noise so I want to replace them. I’d like something that performs as well as or better than the original fans that won’t cost me a small fortune. I also DO NOT want RGB, I’ve decided my build looks cleaner without all the lights. Any suggestions?

I'd suggest Noctua Redux fan specificaly NF-P12 redux-1700 PWM.

Do they come in black?

No that would be the chromax version which is better but also more expensive (~20-22€). Redux are old model so less expensive and in grey.

I personally use those https://noctua.at/en/nf-f12-pwm-chromax-black-swap equivalent of the beige https://noctua.at/en/nf-f12-pwm. A bit more expensive but better and also beige https://noctua.at/fr/products/fan/nf-a12x25-pwm.

Budget? Are you looking for particularly quiet fans or just quieter ones?

I'd like to stay under $30 for a pair.  Just quiet, doesn't have to be completely silent.

Thats gonna be hard. Better fans are around $18. If you want to have PWM. 3pins go for less.

The noctua I have suggested are in that price range but if you don't like them you could check out the corsair ML120 2-Pack it's at 31$ atm, Pure Wings 2 PMW is at 15$.

Bumping my budget to $40 wouldn’t be an issue for a solid set of fans. Did you have a suggestion?  I’d like to keep them black or black/white to stay with my theme.

I’m a fan of Corsairs products actually. Do you think the ML120’s would perform as well as the stock fans on the AIO?

I don't own one but they are used on their h150i pro. From reviews I read they are good but can be loud under load.

Not to worried about sound. My pc sits under my desk at the moment so that dampens the noise. Plus I use headphones for gaming so I wouldn’t hear it anyways. Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll check them out!

They should perform as well but aforementioned NF-P12's would probably be quieter.

What case are you using and where's the cooler mentioned? The fans may be mounted in a way that hides most of the gray.

  • 3 years later...

I also have the ML240L and the stock fans are ridiculously noisy.

I switched mine out with a set of Corsair fans around 3 years ago and it was much quieter.

my R5 3600 idles at around 44’ and peaks at around 80

I want to fit the be quiet LIGHT WINGS  120mm PWM high-speed fans to it but am not sure if it will be good or not. Any advice?
