Background info: I have 2 GTX 780's in SLi, an i7 4820k, 16Gb of RAM, a corsair 800w PSU, and an SLi capable motherboard. All drivers are up to date, SLi is enabled and works fine /most/ of the time.

I understand that some games don't support SLi or even if they do it sometimes just doesn't work, I've accepted that with many games I have, and just run them with a single GPU, however I recently installed the Division 2 and I'm experiencing some really weird behavior. I would just chalk it up to SLi being jank at the best of times and run it single GPU with low settings, but I really wanna get to the bottom of whats going on.

So, to start I had some issues like SLi being set to single GPU by default for the Division 2 in the Nvidia control panel, despite global settings being set to alternate frame rendering. I set it to AFR manually and then SLi started to work-ish, both cards are being used but both are only around 25% utilization with the game running at about 15-20 fps. I was about to give up and go back to single GPU when I opened the menu and my fps jumped up to 70, as well as my utilization jumping to near 100% for both cards, if I close the menu then usage drops back to 25% and so does the framerate. I'll also add that this game uses opaque menus overlaying the actual game, so it isn't just rendering the menus at 70 fps, the game is also being rendered in the background, and I can physically see the game itself running at 70 fps.

I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar experience, or has any ideas what could be causing this as I have absolutely no clue whatsoever.

TL;DR: Division 2 uses 25% of my GPU's in game, but uses 100% when I open any menu.

Assume the load changes to a point the system can handle.

Had the same issue in black ops 3. Using Titan blacks and a 4790k. But the cards would sit at 40-50% gaming and 100% in the menu.

But it was easy for me to see the issue. Cpu simply couldn’t keep up even with the little frames I wanted.

You should be able to monitor the system and see how the cpu cores are being used, same with ram.

The Division 2 does not have proper SLI / Crossfire / multi-GPU support.

People have been able to enable multi-GPU to run, like what you are doing, but it flops on it's face in various ways.

I'm sitting on who GPUs, and would be nice if Division 2 had proper SLI / Crossfire support...but it doesn't.
