Apu + gpu

What if we pair an Apu (like amd ryzen 5) with any kind of gpu will it work if it works which kind of gpu should you choose

It works just fine. AMD's APUs are nothing more than a CPU and GPU that fit on the same silicon. It's actually no different than using any of Intel's mainstream or laptop CPUs with a GPU.
