Hi guys, i've always been wondering this thing when downloading games and i'd be happy if i could get a definitive answer here because it is driving me a little crazy

i have a 1000mbps subscription from my isp, and i always wondered why the games didnt download at 1000mbps.

but i recently found out something bigger, which is that steam shows around 77mbps download, but taskmanager shows a lot more.

i'm confused, can anyone explain this :D?

Steam is in Megabytes (MB/s) the Task Manager is in Megabits (mbps). 77MB/s is 616mbps the rest will likely just be it un-compressing some of the data and writing it to the disk in the correct format
