Would a 75€ crucial m500 120GB be a better choice than the 840 Evo for 87.90€?

Performance with numbers only, the 840 evo would be 10% faster, but when you're actually using it, you can't really tell. And crucial and samsung are both known for reliability, so whatever is cheaper, is the better option in this case, since I don't think you're going to write tons of data onto it everyday that require that extra 10% performance.

Hi there.

So i want to buy my first SSD, i can only afford a 120GB one so i cant decide between an Hyperx 3k(90,90€; 122.90USD) and an 840 Evo(87.90€;  118.84USD).

Any suggestions?

Thanks

120GB 840 Evo is not worth it as the cache is smaller and write speed is significantly slower than the 250GB version, so you might as well splash the extra cash to get more bang for your money, but I guess that defeats the point since you're low on money.

I wont write that much so i will probably go with the crucial since its cheaper.

Adata Premier Pro SP900 is also a choice.

I doubt that you will find 240 gig ssds for 90€, just get a decent 120 gig one if you can't cash up.

If you can't decide, look up some RMA rates and look how much warranty you can get with which ssd.

who cares...

240gb ssd's usually have faster writes and much better value/gb
120gb samsung evo=£73gbp

Get the m500.

Its a fast drive (dont get fooled by EVOs big sequential figures, they are made up via Turbowrite), that has proven controller (same one used in plextor m5s) and MLC flash (3x better endurance than EVOs TLC).

And if its cheaper, than its a no-brainer.
