What is this device?? - T3 Innovation Remote 5??

Hi Everyone,

 

I'm looking for some help in identifying what this device does. Some network installer came to my place and put one of these on a coaxial plug. I searched online and this is the exact same unit that was on my coaxial plug. My internet is currently routed through the phone line so it won't matter whether I have this device on my coaxial plug or not.

This is part of a system to map out where and what path the coax in a building runs. They forgot it when they cleaned up. It isn’t doing anything without the tester unit.

As far as I can tell it's used in conjunction with some sort of analyser.

With a few of these connected in different places it allows someone to figure out the electrical layout of the local coax.
