Quick Summary:

I had to do a fresh install of windows. Everything went fine until I tried my usual game (League of legends, which runs in almost any computer) I used to play at medium graphics at a max of 40 fps. And now, no matter how low the graphics are set, I get about 12 to 25 fps. for some reason the gpu is always at 100% load, I don't know what's happening. I did a fresh install of windows again, I reinstalled the Graphics drivers, I reinstalled LoL like 4 times and I'm still having the same issue. I don't know why the gpu gets to a 100% load, it didn't use to go that up before (I'm using NZXT CAM. The cpu temperatures are between 33 to 41) Please help me. (My specs: Intel DH77KC Motherboard, i5 3470, 8 gb ram ddr3 1333 mhz, 1 TB WD Blue, 800w generic power supply)

You are using integrated GPU, right? Check how much RAM you have allocated for it. I think default is 512mb or 1gb. You should bump that up to 1.5-2gb. Also check on how big your pagefile is.

How do I do that? (Sorry I'm a newbie when it comes to computers)

Allocating RAM to VRAM is done from BIOS. Pagefile is bit harder. Its under System advanced settings, Performance and so on. You can see how much has been set from Task Manager.

Ok, allocating ram to Vram is not an option for me. (It doesn't show in the BIOS options) about the page size, how big should it be? here it says 1280 mb.

What mobo do you have?

Pagefile should be half of your physical RAM. It uses HDD or SSD space, so if you have laptop etc. take note on that. Thats used when your RAM gets full, but some software use it all the time.

Question - are you using the iGPU?  If so this is particularly part of the issue, but I just read up to check and seems like people have you pointed in the right direction!

Can't say from the manual if there is option for it or not. Just says that max is 1.7gb. Can you post screenshot of Task Manager while gaming? The tab where performance graphs are shown. For memory and GPU.

  • 3 weeks later...

Sorry for replying this late, I finally noticed what's the problem. It's the driver apparently, sometimes when I turn it on, the resolution changes and when I go to settings there's no limit to the resolution (up to 4k, even when my monitor can't handle that) so I reset it and then everything goes back to normal. Is there anyway to fix this? or it's a common issue?
