Is HDMI 2.0 able to handle 3440x1440 at 144hz? The reason being that a laptop that I want: https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/NBKGBM15920702/Gigabyte-Aorus-15-X9-RTX-2070-Gaming-Laptop-144Hz only has HDMI 2.0 and my monitor is 3440x1440. No, the max is around 100 Hz.

Also assumes the monitor supports HDMI 2.0; Many 3440×1440 monitors only support HDMI 1.4 up to 300 Mpx/s, which limits them to 50 Hz.over HDMI.
