So about a month ago I got a 5700xt and admittedly I've pretty much been playing csgo for this whole time on it, so i didnt really notice the problem until I started to play some Far Cry ND and I the performance was terrible. I looked into it and it looks like the clocks are only staying at about 900-1100mhz, making 1080p ultra run at 50-70fps max. Any ideas or is it just driver problems... still...

How does it perform in the ingame benchmark?

Edit: does lowering from "ultra" to "high/medium" yield any increase in framerate

Are there stuttering issues?

In game benchmark performs about the same while bumping down the settings barely yeilds any increase in performance. As far as the stuttering, ive only had issues in csgo but even then they go away after a while. It doesnt do this in something like furmark, as it will boost to well over 1900mhz all day, but it does in other games. Ive tried messing around in wattman, yeeting the power slider to 50% but even then its still having issues.

If you get about 100fps to start with and about 60-70fps (100fps to start with) in the ingame benchmark, then you are probably CPU limited.

The stuttering in CS;GO. How far are the framedroos

Does it boost properly in other games?

What CPU are you using, and what RAM are you using? Is the RAM in single channel or dual channel mode?

The cpu usage was only about 40-50% and so was the gpu, the framerates in csgo was ok and would only drop after a round just ended/began and would drop to 130ish while staying a consistent 180-200ish. I wouldnt really think a 2600x would bottleneck a 5700xt that much would it. Seems like the gpu just acting up as in csgo gpu clock would drop to 650ish mhz at times.

Thats just a CPU bottleneck

No CPU can keep up with a gtx 1060 in CS;GO.

Iirc it doesnt, bUt i havent doublechecked, but it seems you are getting the performance you should be getting.

Also CPU usage looks at all cores, Far Cry just hasnt been good at using that many cores.

Id have to doublecheck with a CPU benchmark, but 70 fps is pretty good.

I've had issues like this before where my AMD card was stuck with 2D clocks in some games (e.g. Shogun 2 Total War). I had to create a profile and hot-key it to force 3D clockspeeds. It's been a while since I had to do that and AMD drivers have changed a ton since then.

Idk, ive looked at other benchmarks at 1440p and people are getting upwards of 100fps easily but at 1080 im dropping down to 45fps at times. usually hangs around 60fps.

On the same hardware?

Or a GPU benchmark?

On better hardware (9700k iirc) but they were still boosting up to 18-1900mhz

The roughly expected performance is the same for the, 2600.

Performance should hover around 70-100 fps.

So it seems you are getting a little low performance.

oof dang, doesnt really do this in other games but FC ND for some reason. Thanks for your input tho.
