Can't watch a 1080p blu ray with 4k desktop res.

I would like to watch standard 1080p Blu Rays on my LG 4k tv without having to change my desktop res. to 1920x1080 @ 60Hz from 4096x2160 @ 60Hz. The software works fine when I change the desktop res to 1920x1080, but not in 4k. When I try to play video from a blu ray I get a black or a green screen with audio. Does anyone know of a fix, or is the software just too old to support higher desktop res..

I don't think that 4k was a thing in 2012  through 2014 when software existed. Does a config file hack exist to add 4k standard support for blu ray disks? Is it a software or a hardware Issue not allow video to show with desktop res set to 4096x2160 @ 60Hz.

Using Cyberlink PowerDVD Ultra 2013.

Version PowerDVD 13.0.8703.62

Like I said 1920x1080 works, just not 4096x2160.
