Yes. But you'll need the loop filling skills of a god, and then probably still have bubbles so your performance will suffer and there may be more noise. Reservoirs basically provide extra coolant to fill the gaps as bubbles work their way out, and extra space for the bubbles to go where they don't circulate back through the loop.
