So I recently purchased the Ryzen 5 3600 cpu in conjunction with a gpu upgrade to avoid bottlenecking. However, when installing the new CPU, my system will not post. I have the Asus tuf x470-plus gaming motherboard which works fine with my ryzen 5 1600 cpu. I updated the BIOS from 4017 to 5216 as suggested on the ASUS website before installing my chip, and then again to 5220 when it did not post again. I contacted ASUS and they advised me to update the CMOS. I did and this still did not work. Then I was advised by the engineering team to replace the cpu, which I did and when the new cpu arrived I installed it and it still does not work. When I turn on the power all my fans com on, the native rgb on the board comes on, as well as the rgb on my ram, but my keyboard and mouse do not turn on and my monitors do not recognize a signal. Please help. Do I just need to get a  2700x? or is there something else I can check?

Reset the cmos / bios first before installing new cpu.

One way is to use the reset jumper or easier just unplug the round battery, wait for 10 seconds and replug.
