This is my current pc.

CPU Type                     QuadCore Intel Core i7 920, 2666 MHz (20 x 133)

Motherboard Name       MSI X58 Pro-E (MS-7522)  (2 PCI, 2 PCI-E x1, 3 PCI-E x16, 6 DDR3 DIMM, Audio, Gigabit LAN, IEEE-1394)

Motherboard Chipset    Intel Tylersburg X58, Intel Nehalem

Graphics                       NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970  (4095 MB)

System Memory           16375 MB  (DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM)

                                      Kingston HyperX KHX2133C11D3/8GX    8 GB DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM

Power supply                cft-750-14cs 

 

Graphics and membory got upgrade about 4 years ago rest of it is about 7 years old.

Problem is its gettong slow, and im not sure from where to start, should i upgrade same parts or invest bit more and buy whole new?

What are you doing with the rig? If your mobo supports it, grabbing a cheap X5670 or similar hexacore Xeon and OCing it to 4.2Ghz or so will help a bit, so will OCing your RAM. If you need more performance than those can pump out (well tuned they can almost match an R5 1600), then a platform upgrade would be a good option.

It's pretty old, but i don't see why it would be slow with 16gb it should be enough.

I still run some office pc with core 2 duo/quads, for office work they are still reliable, as long as they have enough memory.

Now for playing games, yes it should be slower overtime a new game installed.

As newer games will require more power from the cpu.
