How is clear Linux os

I am interested in shifting to clear Linux by intel.Can anyone share their experience with it.

I don't see anything special with it really; I'd recommend popOS or another ubuntu distribution above it.

Thanks but aren't you using an AMD pc which may not give you much boost in performance

Just because it's developed by Intel doesn't mean it will give you any performance boost on Intel cpus, it's just a Linux distribution like any other.

Isn't it developed that way by optimizing for their processors.

You can use that version of python on any distribution. A lot of things can benefit from AVX and they don't need to run on Clear Linux to use it.

I played around with it a bit earlier this year. It has lots of potential. The UI is as good as any other I've used at length. Overall performance would have been tough to gauge, as I was using an i5-5300U which can run pretty much any home-use OS without any problems. If I really wanted to push things, I could pull out my old X61t with its C2D L7700 and see if it works as well as Lubuntu and MX do on there. Assuming there aren't missing required instruction sets, if it can run on an Atom, any Atom, it can run on a C2D.

 

If you're looking for a fairly lightweight, snappy distro, I highly recommend Lubuntu, MX or CloudReady's Chrome OS port until Clear figures itself out.

TBF with Clear being from Intel, if it didn't work well with their own systems, it'd be embarrassing. My concern is about how responsible they'd be with it such as nerfing performance on AMD systems. Time will tell.
