Need headset help please

Hey guys I brought a set of steel series arctis 3’s

and I have to use a splitter cable to separate mic and audio however when I stream or use discord  my pc audio is sent out as if it were from the mic, so basically in discord everyone can hear my game,

i have come to the conclusion it’s tge cheep splitter I’m using as if I u plug the audio the mic works fine and if I u plug the mic the audio doesn’t still play to discord, I’ve tested all settings and I have everything set up correct in discord I don’t have outputs set wrong 

 

do u think I should get another splitter to try ?
