Zen 2 Threadripper not coming to X399 (unofficial)

JohnnyDiggs

Just to update on threadripper.

Info leaked by Komachi (Well-respected leaker) has found a number of new CPU's, including threadripper up to 32 cores on a supposed 'SP3r3' socket, with 'TR4+'.

There is indeed a 16c part for those wondering, with..a 280w TDP????? Also includes 24 and 32, but no sign of 48 or 64 core parts.

And before we just say it's a random rumor. It's more than that. Go to page 550 of this AMD document:

https://www.amd.com/system/files/documents/product-master.pdf

There are of course other fancy cpu's including a Ryzen 9 Renoir part among the most juicy in there, but of course that is irrelevant to this thread.

oof AMD sempai noticed and took it down ,_,

Too late now. It's on Komachi's twitter and all over AMD reddit, and on tech news articles everywhere. (In fact, it's not even on reddit anymore..it looks like AMD have managed to take that down too)

To make it even worse for AMD, they have also been screwed over by ARCTIC who have basically all but confirmed a 64 core part after announcing their new Threadripper cooler:

So basically everything AMD was preparing to launch has been leaked by Komachi and ARCTIC. Not a great day at AMD headquarters I'd imagine.
