Hi everyone, I have recently replaced the cooling paste of my CPU. This went without problems, I have done this before with other computers and never encountered any problems. But when I reconnected and started up the computer I suddenly got the following message in my screen "Over Voltage CPU Error - Press F1 to continue".
In the meantime I have ignored the message in the BIOS. The computer still works without problems. The rest of the voltages also just seem to be at normal values. I also currently type this message from the same computer.

What also struck me from the start when I received the set. Is that the motherboard always runs at 114 degrees celcius according to Speccy / HWMonitor etc.

My question is actually: Can I solve this problem myself or have I damaged a sensor on the motherboard? I don't understand what exactly has changed while I have replaced the thermal paste. The computer is still doing just fine, both while running Prime95 and gaming. Can I ignore this problem?

My specifications are as follows:
Processor: Intel® Core ™ i7-4790 @ 3.6ghz
Processor Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Graphics Card: Asus ROG STRIX GTX 1070 8GB
Motherboard: Asus Z97-K
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 DRAM @ 1864mhz
Power Supply: Seasonic M12II Evo 620W

Speccy / HWMonitor

shitty software tbh, but the sensor could have gone haywire as well so there might not be an actual problem

You're right about the fact that it's shitty software but atleast it gives me some kind of indication.

Temperatures are normal, actually even better since I replaced the thermal paste. I just don't understand why I get the voltage error after replacing the thermal paste since I didn't damaged anything afaik.

Make sure there isn't any metal / debris that could be shorting the board.

If you haven't tried reseating the cooler, I'd recommend doing so and making sure it's evenly and gradually tightened in an X-pattern instead of one side before the other.

Are you using the latest bios revision?

114c is a pretty common non-existent / faulty sensor reading though. As long as the temps in the bios seem fine, there's probably no need to worry.
