GPU Upgrade Recommendations

Hi All,

I'm currently in the process of building a new gaming PC. I already have all the parts I need except for the GPU. In my current system I have a GTX 980Ti with a 1080p 144Hz monitor (No freesync/G-Sync). The current parts I have are as follows:

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X

Mobo: ASUS ROG Strix X570-F Gaming AM4 ATX Motherboard

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3600 Memory Kit 

OS SSD : Samsung 860 Evo 500GB

Gaming SSD : Samsung 850 Evo 250GB

HDD : Western Digital 1TB

PSU : EVGA 1000W 80 Plus Gold

 

Region and Budget: I'm in New Zealand and my budget will be roughly $1000 - $1500.

Any suggestions? I would like something that will reach that 144hz frame-rate but nothing too overkill.

really i would not quite upgrade yet. the 980ti is about as good as a 1070 which is still a strong card.

but if you must and you can find a 1080ti its close to 40% ish better than the 980ti
