FreeNAS VM static mac address?

Hi all,

I have a bit of an annoying problem:

I have a FreeNAS server with a Pfsense virtual machine running an OpenVPN server. Everytime the server has to restart (e.g, after updates) the IP address of the virtual machine changes.

I put the mac address of my vm to a static IP address in my router but today I updated to 11.2 U6 and it happened again. I checked my router and found out the vm's mac address changed. How do I make sure my vm keeps its mac address so its IP address doesnt change?

Are you running FreeNAS on a hypervisor or bare metal ?

FreeNAS is installed bare metal.
