I'm looking to buy a new graphics card but I need some help deciding on what I should do. My system is currently running,

Gigabyte AB350 GAMING 3 BOARD, AMD RYZEN 5 1600X, CORSAIR VENGEANCE LOX 3000 MHz RAM, EVGA GTX 970 GPU, CORSAIR RMx 750x 80 PLUS GOLD PSU.

I'm thinking of going with a gigabyte RTX 2070 OC Super new. My question to the forum is I've found an EVGA GTX 1080ti sc2 for $500. What would you guys choose and why. I'm new to Computer gaming and system building so any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

Unless you love RTX, that 1080 ti is gonna have way better value.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

The 1080ti is used. The guy said it's never been overclocked and has the original box even. Can you tell me what the big difference is?

What's the difference? The RTX will be new and the 1080ti will be used but never overclocked.

Overclocked vs not overclocked is insignificant. The big difference is that the 1080 ti performs at the level of the 2080 which is better than the 2070 super (which you probably guessed) and having 11GB of ram is nice.

So the 1080ti will stay relevant with all the new games? I've been hearing alot about Ray Tracing and how it's going to be a big deal when newer games come out. What's your take on it? Sorry for all the questions. I just want to make sure I don't have to spend alot more money in a year or two.

Ray tracing is unproven, there's no telling if it will be in every major AAA title. The 1080 ti is tried and true, a capable beast.

So if you had my setup and around $500 to update this system, what GPU would you get? I'm looking all over for the best card for the best price rice now but buying used can be scary.

Never be sure. If it's used a lot I mean a lot of people lie. You can go on eBay they say no it's used but in great condition but it's been mined on

This card hadn't been mined. The guy is selling this card because he upgraded. He's a gamer. I know what you mean though. I've been looking on eBay all day and there are troves of 1080 ti cards and all of those are risky. Thanks for the input though ?
