Hi guys

I was helping a mate build his new pc today. We built it and it posted. We went to set up windows 10 via a usb stick. It started to install and then the pc shut down, we turned it on and tried to install again. Again it shut down. Next time we turned it on all the fans amd rbg were ln but no peripherals were working and there was no display. We couldnt even boot into the bios. We disassembled the computer, tried to boot with one stick of ram and still nothing. We removed the battery, still nothing. However our motherboard had a red light above CPU indicating a problem with it.

The system was

Ryzen 5 3600

Rx5700xt

16gb corsair 3200mhz rgb ram

Msi x570 a pro mobo

500gb kingston ssd

3 tb hdd

Any help on the situation would be great (we have sent back the cpu and are waiting for a new one)

Sounds to me like the CPU is overheating and shutting it self down to protect itself.

Take of the cooler and make sure that the thermal paste to applied correctly, and when you remount the cooler, make sure it makes a good contact with the CPU.

Yep seems like cpi issues I had kinda the same issue I was having issues trying to install Windows on a new build but it would crash once cpu would go under load. Can you try and putting in a different cpu? You may have just gotten a bad one.
