Win 10 Resolution problem

I just updated both my win 10 and my amd drivers on my laptop. After the updates, any apps that I launch start in their native resolution (ect. 800x600) and dont scale with the 1080p display. Furthermore if I try to enable virtual super resolution, windows again doesnt scale with the display but rather goes outside the display (i can only see a part of the whole screen). I checked all the settings both in amd radeon settings and in windows setting and all have scaling enabled, but frankly i have never encountered this problem so i could be doing something wrong. Please help i need this fixed fast.
