Hi,

I do not know if there has already been a post on the subject, sorry if it is.
I apologize for English I hope you will understand.

I have a problem with the PC, the problem happens every time I run a "more difficult" task, such as rendering (C4D, 3dmax, vray, corona), or triangulation of photogrammetry, if i try to open a section on a large BIM model (archicad), etc. .. after a while the image on the monitor suddenly turns black, and it stays there all the time, the computer is still working, two things i noticed then, the power button does not work, i held up to 30 sec and nothing again, i just have to turn off the power and restart computer to work, i also noticed that each time a small red led light in the upper right corner with the DRM mark came ON.

I did all the possible tests that came to my mind and were advised by others. However I did not find any error.

I also have a friend who has a similar computer and has the same problem but the only thing we have in common is the CPU. I also found one forum post from AMD where multiple people have the same problem, also the common component is just the processor.

Unfortunately, no one has come up with a solution so far, so I hope that one of you will know where the problem is.

My configuration:

CPU: tr4 2990wx
GPU: rtx 2080Ti
RAM: HyperX predator 3600mhz 128 gb ram 8x16
MBO: Gygabite Designer x399 (last bios on it 12g)
SSD: Samsung EVO 970 1TB m.2
HDD: Wester digital black 4TB
HDD2: Seagate Baracuda 4TB
WATER cooling: kraken x62 (nzxt)
Case: H700i (nzxt) if that mean something
PSU: Cooler Master V1200 Platinum

Software:
All drivers updated like bios from official web site.
I'm using all legal software including widnows and avast premium which also didn't find nothing.

Thank you!

If your getting a red light upon POST its your CPU or RAM.  Try one stick of RAM.  Also do not overclock anything.  Then get back to us.

Threadrippers are pretty power hungry, 250 Watt TDP. If you can, disable boost and some cores too. Check cooling; has the fan spun up higher at all, try another cooler even if it's an inferior one. I hate to bring up such a controversial topic, but how do you apply thermal paste and how much? The 2990WX has a pretty low max temp of 68C, which it might be hitting.

This sounds like a power problem, since you said nothing of temperature warnings. But it could also be an overheating issue as well, even if there aren't temperature warnings.
