mixing ram

I was thinking of upgrading my ram but not having proper knowledge, i paired my Samsung 4Gb 2133 with Kingston 8Gb 2133. From that day on forward i have been having BSOD everyday several times. i used AIDA64 to check the clocks speed and lo and behold. they were completely different. Is there anyway that i can make it work or do i HAVE to change 1 sodram. and is there anyway to stop my dumb laptop from power limit throttling or somehow increase the power limit on it?
