I have a ASUS ROG laptop model GL502vt

this laptop wasn’t cheap and I bought it new. It lasted one day past the warranty ( 1year and a day) the graphics got fried from over heating the my HD corrupted.

I don’t  have the money to buy a new one or build a new pc. I’m curious if it’s feasible to try and just put a new “system” in it. If it’s possible? Or friendly to the pocket.

Any my advice is welcome. Thanks in advanced.

You can buy a replacement motherboard for around $250 on AliExpress or $300 USD on eBay with an i7-6700HQ and GTX 970M. Take the dead board out, put the new one in (swapping over the hopefully working WiFi card, RAM and other parts) and you should be fine.

I don't really know that it's worth it over building a ~$300 tower out of used and new parts, but it's an option.

What you would do depends on what you used the laptop for. Heavy gaming? Build a used desktop. School stuff or light gaming? Used Thinkpad.
