GPU cable question

So,

 

I need 2 8 pin connections to power my 1070 ftw and all I have is 2 psu cables that terminate to 8 pin and 6 pin connections. In other words, the two cables have an 8 pin connection and a 6 pin connection each. Would it be safe to use the 8 pin connection from each cable and just zip tie down the two 6 pin connections?

Are they PCIe connectors?
