and lastly, why is the 3800x just a scam? a lot of the [basic] research ive done shows it getting much better benchmarks than the 3700

Enable PBO and there is no difference. There really isnt. Same CPU with a touch better binning.

Im not getting super good monitors right away, but i do plan on at least 1440p down the road,

Do you want to get this monitor upgrade done now or?

You usually get less and less the more you go up in price, and either of the builds i originally posted can handle a good 144hz 1440p panel.

also, those 2 builds you posted are earlier are still just as good as mine with the cheaper parts? I want this one to last me a while (longer than my current build, which is 4 years old)

They are better as far as i can tell. The 3700x giving lower performance thsn the 9900 option.

Id your goal os to last 4 years or more, id highly suggest avoiding anything that lacks HT.

Illl come back tomorrow and help you then. Its getting a bit late.

Did i suggest going for a lower end GPU in a 3000$ budget?

Yes.

3700x + x570 board is the way to go over those options

So i didnt suggest a GPU there .......

I suggested a CPU and board. Both options used a rtx 2080 GPU.

In the builds i suggested i used a 2080 super. I need to read through again, because i dont think i suggested something along the lines of a 5700 xt or 2070s

Edit: just reread the post, still havent seen what you are reffering to. I stuck to CPUs for most of the thread and used better GPUs in the builds.
