Hi All, I know @Linus did a video on set up an off site backup server once

I wonder if that is still a good way doing it. I have an office file server running:

- Windows 10

- 1 nvme for boot drive

- 2 HDD running in RAID 1 (Mirroring).

At home I have a PC with plenty of HDD space, and it is running on Windows 10 also. I am planning on making it as a daily or weekly off site backup server and maybe setting up a NAS / file server (which can be accessed online) for my house use.

I am not thinking of getting Synology (trying to utilize my pc to the max) or using any other kind of OS since I only know Windows 10 and so it is streamlined.

My Q:

1. As stated above, is it still a simple and good way of doing it?

2. I have used a backup program that backs up in a weird proprietary file format that I am not keen of using. What is the program that I can use to achieve the result I am looking to achieve as described above with the computers I have? I also don't want the program to back up to a weird file format. Too much to ask eh? Haha thank you for bearing with my questions.

I am new in the computer server world, so I don't know what I am doing. Thank you for your help.
