Would it be worth it to get a 9700K over the 8700k? It doesn't cost alot more money where I'm from.

I need a cpu cooler a power supply and a mb.

Would it be worth it to get a 9700K over the 8700k? It doesn't cost alot more money where I'm from.

I need a cpu cooler a power supply and a mb.

If you use HT Apps then I would get a 9900k... If it is strictly for gaming the 8700k will suffice and be kind towards your monster video card.  Prices are excellent.  For motherboard I would get z390 as for CPU, if you can just put in 150 more bucks and buy a 550w PSU because all you really use is 120 to 140 on idle and not even 400w when gaming.  So even a 550 is sorta future proof.  Is your cause simply gaming I would get a 9900k just 150 dollar more but you get the fastest Intel desktop CPU ever.  5Ghz on 8 core and 16 threads.  The 6 core would suffice but if you use Premiere and PS and Illustrator or CAD or 3D Modeling or DAW then grab the 9900k the 150 bucks more i worth it big time.  You should need a Z390 motherboard.  You can get the z390 gigabyte elite and for PSU grab a 60 dollar 550w EVGA.  The 9900k is strictly for people that dont game much and use HT apps like I said.

If the above does not fit you and your concern is gaming then grab the 9700k.  If your a hardcore desktop user then grab the 9900k.  It is a huge leap from a 8700k and will have a longer future proof life.

What is your budget for CPU cooler and PSU and MOBO ?

ill be using it for gaming, some easy programming for college and maybe some streaming using a capture card, so I'm not that worried about cpu, a 8700k or a 3700x should suffice.

Sorry made a mistake I said 9700k is for gaming, I meant 9900k is meant for HT apps and 9700k is for gaming as well as the 8700k.  If your first priority is gaming but you also use HT apps would look about getting a Ryzen 3600 and a x470 mobo with 550w evga psu and a 30 dollar cooler.

What does this mean?

The Gigabyte Z390 AORUS PRO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard has an additional 4-pin ATX power connector but the EVGA SuperNOVA G3 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply does not. This connector is used to supply additional 12V current to the motherboard. While the system will likely still run without it, higher current demands such as extreme overclocking or large video card current draws may require it.

Im lacking a cpu cooler. And would the video card fit in the case?

It's just an extra CPU power thing, realistically you could need it if you pushed a 9900K really really hard on water, or an 8700K or higher on LN2 might do the trick, but for like 99% of use cases you don't actually need to use the extra 4 (or 8 on some mobos) pin.

Yes the 2070 will fit very nicely in that case  It is a popular case and you can put a jumbo sized cooler in there as well.  Are you looking for HSF cooling or liquid cooling ?

The PSU you mentioned is great so is the Aorus pro mobo and the PSU is prefect, do not change that or your throwing away money.  As I said you do not even use 400watts so your future proof for a future video card update.

So in closing if your hell bent on on Intel then get the Aorus Z390 and I would deeply think about getting a 9900k.  Only 150 bucks more but it has 2 more cores and 4 threads plus its i9 series much faster.  For HT Apps I would get a 3700 or a 3900 if you can afford it or a 9900k as I said.

So once again if you do basic desktop stuff grab the 8700k as its a great gaming CPU especially when overclocked which it is meant to do.  People take theirs to 5Ghz but 4.8Ghz is easy so darn easy.

This is also interesting i guess. From what I know AMD cpus come with stock cpu coolers, would that suffice?

On the 3700X and higher it should be fine, the lower tier coolers got nerfed this time around. You will want at least 3200Mz CL16 RAM though, preferably 3200Mhz CL14 or 3600Mhz CL16 (I often find the standard 3200Mhz CL16 stuff for less than 3000Mhz so there's really no reason not to get at least that).

Much much better.  Like I said 3700 or 3900....  You will do great with HT apps and gaming will give you max performance and what not.  Good choice for PSU as I said earlier and case is good to.  For cooler, depends if your going to overclock.  If you are then you can't use the wraith prism that comes with Ryzen you would need at minimum a Hyper 212 evo for 30 bucks.  Or spend 85 bucks and get a DRP 4 .. It is the size of a mini basketball and make no noise what so ever. The fans are silent and what not.

Is this okay for the final build? The Cpu cooler i might only get later when i overclock the cpu. I'll also need to get windows and do I have to get that glue for the cpu cooler or does amd come with it?

Looking like the final build though.

i can get the crucial 500gb mx500 m.2 for the same price.

samsung 860 evo/970 evo would cost way more.

The MX500 and 860 Evo are SATA III ssd, regardless of the connection. The 970 Evo is NVMe therefore much faster. You might checkout the Intel 660p and Crucial P1 which are NVMe drives. Not as fast at the Samsung 970 but much faster than any SATA III drive.

Consider a single 2TB ssd like the NVMe Intel 660p.

I'd suggest faster memory. Not much more expensive.

Consider the Nzxt H500 case. The system does not need the larger H700 unless there are unmentioned plans.

I'd suggest the quieter RMx (2018) 650 psu. At the moment it is the same price as the 550W model. Several reviewers feel that the G3 lacks appropriate overcurrent protection.

I literally had a Intel 660p at the start of the post and someone told me to get a crucial or samsung ssd which are much more expensive.

If I get the h700 ill never change case again probably, but i'll keep that in mind.

Is the latest memory I picked good? 3200, cl16 and 16gb.

The 660p uses lower endurance cells. Most consumers will not write more than 100GB every day for ten years, which is the rated endurance of the 2TB model. The drive does not perform as well as the Samsung 970. That is reflected in the price. It performs much better than SATA III ssd like the 860 Evo and MX500.

Yes on the memory.

I wouldn't count on never changing cases. As a start, while you are not getting a motherboard that supports front panel USB-C it is almost certain that the feature will become standard in the near future. The case does not have a USB-C front panel port. Case design and aesthetics change with some frequency. Just consider the elimination of multiple generally fixed drive bays and use of tempered glass. And a few years ago cases had to be changed to accommodate radiators. There really is no knowing what we are going to see and want in cases down the road.
