My original idea was to pair a 9th gen I3 with no integrated graphics with a GTX 1060...can anyone help/improve this. Also please include a pcpartpicker list so I can buy them thanks ?

*edit*

also please make it intel so that I can take advantage of the 10th gen cpu’s coming out...sorry and thanks again

What's your current budget/country?

And you only have a 1080p 60hz display?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Go for a ryzen board, even the lowest level ryzen chip is pretty cheap and powerful and a good value, but you can still upgrade to a faster one, and if they release a new Ryzen chip, it will still be compatible with the AM4 board.

Intel can have inconsistent socket upgrades which isn't the best for futureproofing.

Well. You can get an R5 2400G which will run a lot of games just fine, and have the rest of the PC be solid.

Can just throw in a ~$300-350 RX 5700 at some point in the future

If you look for a used CPU, and RX 470/480/570/580 you might just make the budget, without a case, or just get like $600 for the budget.

You can forgo the RX 570 to save $140 and use that money to get better storage or get a crappier case and keep everything else.

This isn't a perfect build, but for $500 it'll last you long enough for upgrades

Current (9th) Gen Intel Mobo + wanting to use the next gen Intel CPU =  lol no

1st - If you follow how often Intel changes CPU socket (because lol they like forcing new motherboard), you'd know that doesn't end well apart from maybe a refresh (or 2 refreshes thanks to being stuck on 14nm and not adding cores yet)

2nd - If you were following the latest leaks about the Intel 10th Gen you'd know they're announcing a new socket, so that plan is DoA anyway.  (See 1st point for why that's not only likely not just rumor, but it's a 100% Intel move, proven by track record).

3rd - Why bother worrying about what possible performance 10th Gen Intel has, AMD 3rd Gen is here now, and it rocks, so big whoop?  AMD 4th Gen can only be better as well and has all the more chance (especially since Intel = no chance) of being supported by a current Ryzen motherboard (especially X570, decent chance also for X470).

What’s the difference between getting a 570 and a 580?

Modified it a bit and got $150 for an early birthday present so I was wondering if this would be able to work too...

The 6 core CPU will really only benefit you in the most extreme AAA titles, streaming, and productivity work over the 4 core. I'd also recommend going with either a faster HDD or SSD as a 5400 RPM non-fusion HDD  is going to feel painfully slow. Also, you really, really don't need 16GB of RAM. So at around $600 here's a few fun systems.

Build 1: The barebones. For this you'll be using the vega 11 APU instead of an external GPU. This gives you the most in terms of upgrade paths as you have the newest CPU and Mobo you could have while having fast RAM to make use of the APU. You average 1080p FPS should be between 50 and 70 on most titles if you're willing to play at medium or low setting on a some of the more high end games. I've also included an NVME boot drive because I think they're sexy with a 1TB HDD for storage. If RAID isn't your bag, you could just use a higher capacity M.2 instead.

Build 2: The workstation. If you really, really want a 6 core CPU with 16GB of RAM, here you go

That's not a real PC Part Picker link.  it links to the list homepage, not unlike linking the shopping cart landing page of amazon that does not transfer.
