Hi All,

Here is an attempt at a propsed first build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/P2VVq4

It is intended to run 2x32inch displays. I am trying to keep the PC budget to around 2000-2500AUD.

I inted to use it for light-moderate gaming (DOTA 2 etc) as well as for productivity/work.

Any advice would be appreciated :)

Welcome to the forums!

What kind of work do you do? Depending on the software your specs will change a bit, though you'll definitely want a higher-end CPU. I commend your good PSU choice :)

You can definitely save money on the motherboard and cooling. That all depends on how much budget you want to allocate to aesthetics. The way I do it is say "X money is for aesthetics" and then if I make a choice that's more expensive than the non-bling equivalent, I subtract the difference from the RGBudget.

For instance, this non-bling build makes room for a much more powerful Ryzen 7 3700X CPU, while keeping the price around the same.

Also gave you a 2TB Hard Drive, that branding is for workstation / server CPUs. I have one (an RE4) that I got after RMAing my old drive, and it's high performance for a hard drive, I've had no problems with it.

EDIT: This is an amazing deal for a PSU https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/3zNypg/corsair-power-supply-cp9020090na

With a much cheaper SSD and no cooler (if you go for the shadow rock slim, might as well keep the prism) then suddenly you can fit a 5700XT

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

That looks pretty good

Actually I'd consider a Deepcool Gammaxx 400, it scored higher performance than the Shadow Rock Slim and the NH-U12S and it's super cheap
