Internet problem....

Bafga

So my computer eats up my bandwidth or attleast the speed i am paying for but it cant seem to go much higher even though it is eating all that i am paying for  max down is 80 and max up is 35-40 but as soon as i start to download on steam or somewhere else it keeps the speed at 1 or 3 mb/s and i cant even load google while that is happening .. any one knows a solution to this ?

Steam will eat up all your bandwith, but u can throttle that in the settings.

Also your router and Steam both use a different way to show u the speed:

Router -> Mb/s so thats bits per second

Steam -> MB/S and thats bytes per second.

Multiply the Steam speed by 8 and you get the Mb/s speed.

Still, thats 19,2 Mb/s so with 80 Mb/s you should have more then enough overhead.

How is your computer connected to the router? Wired or Wireless? And what does the link speed say (on the PC)

If you don't have any personalized rules, it may be QoS fault. Try turning it off and see if the situation improves. From experience, I know that QoS without rules doesn't prioritize the download speed but rather equalize bandwidth on all devices. If you have only one device using the connection then QoS is not necessary.

i will try to disable QOS maybe that might be the problem
