Posted August 29, 2019 Had a power outage a little while ago and then I struggled a little to get my server starting again. It is a server with a Tyan S7012 and a couple of xeon CPUs. It was completely dead, but after a bit of "on and off, cable inn and out" it started. I imagine that I heard some strange sounds in the PSU, so I suspect it might be bad and should be replaced. So I want a new PSU, but what should I buy now? Found this in the manual on page 33: Full manual: https://www.tyan.com/manuals/S7012_UG_v1.1_06212012.pdf But how do I make sure a new PSU is not "ATX 2.x, ATX12V and ATXGES"? Of course, I will not end up destroying the CPU or the motherboard.
